- You share your draft by email or a document link, and a person sends back a scored rubric, comments and your top three fixes.
- $49 per essay.
- You get a scored rubric, comments and prioritised suggestions.
This is an online essay review service run by a person, not an essay grader or an AI checker. If you only want to score your own draft, the free college essay grader does that. If you want an outside reviewer to read it, score it and tell you what to fix, request a review below.
What you get for $49
- A scored rubric. Your essay rated on the same 10 criteria as our free college essay grader (or the personal statement grader for UCAS), with a short reason for every score.
- Comments on your draft. Margin notes where the essay loses focus, tells instead of shows, or slips out of your voice.
- Your top three priorities. A short summary of the three changes that would most improve the essay, in order.
- One follow-up. Reply with one question about the feedback and we answer it by email.
One essay per review: a Common App or supplemental essay up to 650 words, a UCAS personal statement up to 4,000 characters, or a statement of purpose or scholarship essay up to 1,000 words.

Who it is for
Students who have a complete draft and want an honest outside read before submitting. It works best after you have scored yourself on the free grader: you will know which criteria worry you, and the review tells you whether you are right and what to do about it.
If you are still choosing a topic, start with our annotated personal statement examples and the college essay guides instead. A review is most useful once there is a draft to react to.

Is paid feedback allowed?
Feedback is generally allowed: teachers, counsellors and writing centres give it all the time. What is not allowed is someone else writing the essay. The Common App asks you to confirm your application is your own work, and UCAS checks statements for similarity. Our review points out what to change; every word in the final essay is yours.
